R2: Karim in 4 against lefty Adrian
[3] Karim Gawad (EGY) 31 Adrian Waller (ENG) 11-5, 11-5, 7-11, 11-6 (33m)
Karim : It’s so hard to see Adrian’s shots, I struggled to read his game. He is a great lefty player.
I was talking with Farah, my wife, and I was telling her ‘I can’t believe I’m playing a tournament match today, three days after the Worlds in Chicago, you don’t feel you are back in competition, jetlag kicking in and lack of sleep, everything. But that’s how it is.
And I live round the corner, so I don’t stay at the hotel, and I don’t have that “tournament atmosphere”.
I think I played well overall, just a little mental break I had in the third, being 5/4 up or something to losing the game 11/7. Happy with the win today, and although I have a day off tomorrow, sleeping is not in the cards [showing his little boy Youssef].
