R2: A clinical performance from Nada against Tomato

[5] Nada Abbas (EGY) 3-0 Tomato Ho (HKG)  11-4, 11-2, 11-6 (23m)

A clinical performance from Nada beating Tomato in straight games.

Nada : Tomato is not an easy player, we played once before I think. And I saw her trouble several top players. So coming into that match I knew it was going to be tough, especially as I just come back from Chicago, and with the jetlag, the sleeping is not the best.

So I kind of relaxed, I didn’t panic, I try to sleep well, I didn’t train at all, I tried to take it easy on myself. It is what it is, and this is what happens and do not think about it.

That helped me to get on court and play the squash I wanted to produce.

I did quite a few changes in the summer and I started playing with Kika (Ahmed Effat), and we’ve been working on so many things.

I only now realise that I knew that I was way better than my ranking, but I sort of accepted when I was. OK, I am in that position, and there are players I want to be able to beat, above my ranking. And it’s step by step.

This is kind of relaxed me, made me more focus on every single match, I try and play my best squash, I try and play the game plan we’ve been working on, with the lower or higher seed. And even if I don’t win against higher seed, at least I have a game plan and I could potentially beat them.
